Modern comfort at an ideal location. Make Berendo your next home!
Testimonials from our current and past Berendo residents…
“I loved living at N Berendo, the apartment felt open and had great natural light, as well as full amenities like a washer and dryer in our unit, central AC, laminate wood flooring, a spacious kitchen, and a cozy balcony. It is also right by Gracie’s Pizza, which became a staple for us, as well as some other cool small businesses nearby on Heliotrope I would frequent. We could walk to the Metro easily (about 10 min) and were close to the freeway so it made a lot of the city easily accessible. If we had any problems or questions, our manager was always personable, would immediately answer our calls and was quick to help us out. Overall it is a really great spot! “ -EP
“I had a great experience living at Berendo. It's a really convenient location being central in Hollywood, yet you're on a quiet street away from the business. Walking distance on Melrose there are some great local shops and restaurants. The neighborhood is permit parking, which makes street parking really manageable. The units are new and spacious with great lighting. There is definitely enough space for a few people to comfortably cook, hang out, and work in the common areas. The central AC and washer/dryer units are a HUGE plus, as well. It's really hard to find that for a good value in LA. Our manager was really helpful whenever there were any maintenance issues, all of our needs were met in a timely manner and that was very reassuring. Overall, I would definitely recommend living in these apartments!” -LF
I used to live in this place and I have nothing negative to say about it. If only my family wouldn't need a bigger place after my parents arrived in the country, we would've never moved out.
First of all, the manager/owner is one of the nicest and respectful people I've met in LA. He's always just a text away if I need something (like a repair) for the apartment, which is rare. He's actually the one who reaches out when he needs to update the place, like an extra fire extinguisher and some automatic solar lights.
For the place itself, not only is it super modern and updated, but the appliances that came with it are just impressive. Top of the line double door fridge with an ice maker and water dispenser, washer and separate dryer (that runs on gas!), stainless steel stove, controlled central cool/heat system, etc! The rooms are spacious and windows are big. I don't know about you but I love natural lighting, so I adore the brightness of the place. It came with parking as well, but there's plenty of street parking available. The neighbors are friendly and courteous as well. Nice and very respectful young adults.
The apartment is located in Hollywood, which is always a great location. Very accessible and close to a freeway. There's a yoga studio down the corner, and various restaurants and gyms (crossfit) just 1-2 blocks away. It is near LACC so it is expected that there are lots of restaurants and recreational places around.
I really recommend this place, and like I said, I would've not moved out if not needed.” -RM
“I lived at Berendo for almost 3 years and had a lovely time within the small community. Our moderately priced apartment was clean, spacious and modern —and included parking—which all in all felt like a needle in a haystack during our search for a home. The other tenants were all young professionals but maintained a quiet/respectful environment. Management is swift to answer any concerns, made multiple safety updates to the property during our time there and was especially thoughtful during COVID-19. The neighborhood was also really cute with great shops/food in walking distance. Cannot recommend this home enough!” -AM
“My time at Berendo was incredibly pleasant. Our manager was responsive to our requests and our neighbors were generally friendly and welcoming. The unit itself was gorgeous, with a spacious kitchen and lovely second floor patio that was perfect for everything from morning meditations to afternoon workouts. The apartment is located in a great part of town: walking distance from Koreatown and Griffith Park, and a short drive (due to our proximity to the 101 freeway) from downtown LA, the San Gabriel Valley, and even the valley.” -KT
“My roommates and I made the move from the east coast to LA a few months ago, and we couldn't have landed in a better spot. The apartment we moved into at 633 N Berendo st was a pretty good size for the price, and the interior was really nice with a lot of sunlight. Our landlord has been responsive whenever something in the apartment popped up that needed attention, and he even went out of his way to install an outside heater, a grill, and some seating in the shared outdoor space in between our house and our neighbors. There's also a small parking lot behind the house, which is pretty hard to come by. Location wise, the house is only a ten minute walk from the local subway and bus station, and it's a short drive away from some great bars and restaurants in Hollywood. If you're looking for a solid landlord and some good neighbors (me) then I couldn't recommend this place enough.” JM
"I stayed at Berendo for 1 year and really enjoyed this apartment. It's honestly the first time I've felt really comfortable in a home and solved the dilemma of constantly looking for a better place. Location is amazing, 10-15 min from absolutely anything major in LA. There is street parking via permit but luckily the apartment came with a parking spot which helped a ton. Feels super safe and secure because of the gate and really enjoyed the key code entry to our home. The apartment has AMAZING natural lighting which was super big for me and all of our plants! P.S. Boba Time is around the corner so a win all around." -SG
“I lived in this unit for a year, and if I'm being honest I wish I didn't have to leave! This was such a wild year, and regardless of the chaos I felt safe and at home. Awesome stainless steel appliances from refrigerator, to microwave, to dishwasher, to washer + dryer, to a double-sink (w/ garbage disposal) that all work efficiently. The wall + floor colors bring so much natural light into the house, and are very neutral colors to base any interior design ideas off. The number of AMAZING sunsets from the little balcony has been too many to count. When the heat wave HIT, the house kept us cool - and when the nights got icy, the heater kept us toasty. Great central AC/heat units. Best location - right by the 101 for easy highway access, and super close to Echo Park/ Stadium, Sunset Blvd, KTown, Silverlake, + Griffith Park. All neighbors were very kind and we all respected each other's privacy. I'm going to miss living on Berendo St., this is a special home and I hope whoever lives here next will have the same fabulous living experience.” -SS
“Myself and two other moved to N Berendo recently and it has been one of the best apartments I’ve gotten my hands on over the years. Although I’m new to LA, I am so far very satisfied with it’s location in city. It’s just a short bike-ride from Silver Lake, Echo Park, Griffith, and other great spots with farmers markets and other shops not far. There are solid options for shopping in the general vicinity, but the subway station is only about 10 or so minutes walk away, and to the red line nonetheless which is a great one to get most places. We’ve been able to bump into our neighbors who were incredibly friendly, even leaving us some small welcome-gifts on our doorstep our first week here. The inside of the unit is very comfortable, with washer drier in its own closet, a/c for comfy temperatures on those hotter California days, spacious living room next to the kitchen, and solid space in each bedroom for each of us. Not to mention not just one, but TWO parking spaces for out unit, along with the recently added grill and outdoor seating for all of us in each building to share. This apartment building has been a tremendous introduction to my time here in Los Angeles. “ -TJ
